Sift together “hot cake” mix and cocoa powder.
Place chocolate and butter in a bowl and melt by double boiling or over low heat.
Roast walnuts and chop them finely.
Place the sifted dry ingredients in a bowl. Mix in egg, milk and the chocolate mixture (#2), in that order. (Photo #1)
Mix in the chopped walnuts. (Photo #2)
Fill the baking cups with the batter 4/5 full. (Photo #3)
Cover the cups with aluminum foil. Bake in a preheated oven or toaster oven at 180 °C (365 °F) for about 30 minutes. They are done when a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean. (Photo #4)
