Lightly roast walnuts and almond slices in the oven, then chop them roughly. (Photo #1)
In a bowl, cream together butter and sugar. (Photo #2)
To the butter mixture, stir in beaten eggs, a little at a time, and mix until it emulsifies. (Photo #3)
Fold in sifted flour/cocoa powder mixture and mix lightly.
While mixing the batter, fold in the nuts and chocolate chips, then blend well until the batter is thoroughly combined. (Photo #4)
Transfer the batter into a round mold. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (356 °F) for about 30 minutes. (Photo #5)
After cooling, cut into eight pieces.
