French style walnut cookies. After cooling, dust with confectioners’ sugar generously.

Roast walnuts in the oven and chop them finely. (Photo #1)

In a bowl, cream together butter and sugar. (Photo #2)

Mix in walnuts and flour, in that order. Blend well. (Photo #3)

Pull the dough together, then refrigerate for an hour.

Work the dough again, then roll into a 3cm log. (Photo #4)

Cut the dough into 5mm slices. (Photo #5)

Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (365 °F) for about 12 minutes. (Photo #6)

After cooling, sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar generously.
