In a large bowl, cream together half of the sugar (35g) and butter until pale. (Photo #1)
In another bowl, beat egg whites with the rest of the sugar (35g) until stiff peaks form. (Photo #2)
Pour in melted chocolate to the butter mixture and blend well. (Photo #3)
Stir in egg yolks, a little at a time, and blend well. (Photo #4)
Add the meringue and mix slightly.
Stir in sifted flour/cocoa powder mixture and blend. Fold in walnuts and mix until well combined. (Photo #5)
Pour the batter into a pan.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (356 °F) for 40 to 50 minutes until golden.
After cooling, sprinkle with cocoa powder .
