French style cookies. “Boulettes noires” means “black balls” in French. By being made without eggs, the dough can be crumbly. But by chilling the dough for a while, you can roll the dough into balls without crumbling.

Allow butter to soften at room temperature. Place the butter and sugar in a bowl and rub to combine the two ingredients. (Photo #1)

Mix in flour and cocoa powder. (Photo #2)

Press the dough together to form one clump.

Refrigerate for about half an hour, then roll into 2cm balls.

Place the balls on a baking tray. Bake in a preheated oven at 170 °C (338 °F) for about 10 minutes. (Photo #3)
