In a bowl, cream together butter and sugar.
Combine water and vanilla essence. Add the vanilla mixture to the butter mixture and blend.
Fold in flour and blend. Press the dough together to form a clump. (Photo #1)
Using hands, form the dough into 3cm coin shapes (about 5mm thick). (Photo #2)
Bake in a preheated oven at 160 °C (320 °F) for about 15 minutes until light brown. (Photo #3)
